Minah Baek is a Korean soprano, who majored in classical singing at the Milan Conservatory of Music in Italy. She graduated the same school at master’s degree and doctoral Degree, finishing with highest marks. She also completed an operatic interpretation course at ADADS Academy and advanced course in singing at Chigiana Musical Academy.
She took part in multiple master classes led by world-renowned singers, such as Mariella Devia, Montserrat Caballé, Nicolla Martinucci, Leo Nucci, Leone Magiera, Paola Romano, Vittorio Terranova, James , Michelle Mariotti, Ambrogio Maestri, Massimilliano Bullo, David Livermore, and Umberto Pinacci.
In Europe, she has performed different main roles from operas like Il Trovatore, La Forza del Destino, Suor Angelica, Così fan tutte, I Promessi Sposi on many various scenes, including the Verdi Theater, the San Filippo Theater, the Sicily Licata Theatre, the Ario Castle, the Palazzo Liberty in Milan, the Teatro Principal Zaragoza, but also the Aram Nuri Arts Center in Korea. She also performed in numerous concerts, such as the celebratory concert of Italy’s 150 years of independence, Opening Concert of the Milan EXPO, Gala Concert Le Donne di Puccini, consisting of Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La Bohème, Tosca, Un ballo in Maschera parts, final concert of the master classes and prize winner’s concerts of various competitions.
She has recorded a commemoratory album of a modern music composer, Luigi Dallapiccola.
When it comes to competitions, she has also been active and received very positive marks. She won the 26th International Ismaele Voltolino Vocal Competition, as well as the International Citta di Crispiano Vocal Competition, in which she also got the 1st place in the Duet category. In the International Daegu Strings Orchestra Competition, she placed 1st, in the International Valerio Gentile Vocal Competition, she placed 2nd, there was no 1st place that time. In the International Val Tidone Vocal Competition, she got 3rd place, in the International Maria Callas Omaggio Vocal Chamber Competition she got awarded a special giovani prize, in both the International Magda Olivero Vocal Competition and the International Pietro Mongini Vocal Competition she was one of the finalists. She also got awarded a Committee Prize at the International Arte Creativa Vocal Competition.
She is currently affiliated with the Daegu Opera House Opern Studio.
