Mauro Secci is born in Cagliari and began his education at the State conservatoire “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” in his hometown, under the tutelage of M. Elisabetta Scano. He has taken part in masterclasses by Alberto Gazale, Jaume Aragall, Luciana Serra, Angelo Romero and Ricardo Zanelato. Currently, he is studying under M. Gianni Mastino.
He has worked under the conductorship of many famous maestros such as Donato Renzetti, Gerard Corsten, Giampaolo Bisanti, Antonello Allemandi, Matteo Beltrami, Sebastiano Rolli, Giuseppe Finzi and Brandani. He has cooperated with directors such as Carl-Ernst and Ursel Herman, Denis Krief, Lorenzo Mariani, Stefan Medcalf, Pier Francesco Maestrini, Yuri Alexandrov, Stefano Poda, Mario Corradi, Davide Garattini and Aldo Tarabela.
In 2016, he won third place at the “Umberto Giordano” opera singing contest. In March 2017, he debuted in the role of the Duke of Mantua. In November that same year, he performed the role of Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the “Petrucelli” theater in Bari, under the directorship of Gilbert Deflo. At the end of 2017 and at the beginning of 2018, he performed as Alfredo in “La Traviata”, in the opera cycle AsLiCo, under the directorship of Roberto Catalano.
In September 2018, he reprised his role as Alfredo in “La Traviata” at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale A. Belli in Spoleto, under the conductorship of M. Paleski. In December 2018, he debuted as Rinuccio in the opera “Gianni Schicci” by Puccini at the “Kocha” theater in Novara, with M. Mateo Beltrami as conductor and Davide Garattini as director.
In September 2019, he performed the role of Fadinard in the opera “The Italian Straw Hat” by Nino Rota at the “Lirico” theater in Sassari, under the conductorship of M. Santi. In 2021, he performed in the opera “The Neapolitan Millionaire” under the directorship of Fabio Sparvolli and the conductorship of M. Jonathan Brandani at the “Gillio” theater in Luca and at the “Verdi” theater in Pisa; he also starred in “The Merry Widow” operetta at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari under the conductorship of M. Finzi and the directorship of Blas Roca Rey.
He debuted in the role of Pigafetta in the opera “Pigafetta and the First Voyage Around the World” by M. Pierangelo Valtinoni at the “Vicenza” theater. In December 2022, he debuted as Nemorino in the opera “Love Elixir” at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari under the conductorship of M. Solinas. He also performed in “La Traviata” at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, under the directorship of Henning Brockhaus and the conductorship of M. Beatrice Venezi.
In July 2023, he played the role of McDuff in “Macbeth” by Verdi under the conductorship of M. Sergio Alapont and the directorship of M. Massimo Gasparon Pizzi. In September 2023, he again played the role of Alfredo in “La Traviata” under the conductorship of M. Sergio Alapont at the “Musas” festival in Conimbriga. In December that same year, he performed in “Nabucco” at Teatro Lirico in Sassari under the conductorship of M. Carminati and the directorship of M. Leo Muscato. In July 2023, he played the role of Casio in “Otello” at Teatro Lirico in Sasari under the directorship of M. Alberto Gazale and the conductorship of M. Oliva.
He has upcoming performances at Teatro Petruzzelli under the conductorship of Stefano Montanari and the directorship of M. Pugelli.
