Biography
Isidora Moles, soprano with a Serbian heritage, lives in Italy and was born into a family of musicians. She initially began playing the flute and the piano but devoted herself to singing, studying under her mother and grandmother (both singing teachers) and under her adoptive father, a conductor. She continued her education in Rome at the “Boris Hristov” Academy, improving her craft under masters such as Giacomo Prestia, Roberto Frontali, Renata Lamanda, Lucrecia Mesa and Darina Takova.
Since 2018, Isidora has been performing notable roles in international theaters among which Adele in “Die Fledermaus” (Sofia), Oscar in “Un ballo in maschera“ (Opera pa Skaret, Sweden), Serpina “The Maid Turned Mistress” (Rome), Dona Anna in “Don Juan” (Alexandria, Egypt, and Veliko Tarnovo), Violeta in “La Traviata” (Regia di Portici, Belgrade, Plovdiv), Musetta in “La Boheme” (Plovdiv, Beluno) and Neda “Pagliacci” (Taormina). She recently performed as Anna Glavari in “The Merry Widow” by Lechar in Leche and as Adina in “Love Elixir” by Donizetti in Rimini, in January 2024. Parallel with her opera career, she also takes part in concerts and solo recitals.
Isidora has received lots of awards in international contests throughout her career. In 2018, she won second place and the audience’s choice award at the “Fausto Rici” contest in Witterbo and then went on to win first place both at the “Mattia Battistini” contest and at the “Fausto Rici” contest, under the chairmanship of Raina Kabaivanska. In 2022, she was awarded the “Best Rossini performer” award at the SOI Fiorenza Cedolins contest as well as third prize from Roberto Scandiuzzi at the “Nikolay Gyaurov” contest in Modena after which she takes part in the Winners’ concert in 2023, together with Chris Merit. She recently won second prize at the international contest “Yole de Maria” and at the “Tito Schipa” contest.
She was among the finalists at the Rai Radio 3 “Voci in Barcaccia” contest in 2022. Isidora was chosen to record arias on a CD produced for Rai by BAM Records and took part at the Celebratory World Opera Day concert together with the Rome Opera Women’s choir, under the conductorship of Maestro Ciro Visco. In 2023, she was chosen to take part in the Siemens Art Project where she performed as Dona Anna in “Don Juan”, in Alexandria, Egypt, in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and under the conductorship of Maestro Nayer Nagui.
Isidora has a degree in scenography and costume design from the fine arts Academy in Rome; during her internships at the Rome Opera and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, she specialized in historical costumes. She is the designer of the costumes of the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” in Sofia (2020) and of costumes of many other productions.
