Alexander Nosikov

Biography

Alexander Nosikov was born in 1980 in Pleven. In 1999 he graduated from the Pleven Music School with a first degree in bassoon and a second degree in classical singing. The same year he was accepted into the staff of the Veliko Tarnovo Music and Drama Theatre “Konstantin Kisimov”. There he made his operatic debut with the role of Don Basilio in “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini.

In 2000 he was accepted into the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in the singing class of Associate Professor Irena Brambarova and in Professor Pavel Gerdzhikov’s acting class and continues to participate in the productions of the Music and Drama Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo.

From 2003 to 2005 he was a scholarship holder of the Opera Studio at the University of the Arts in Graz – Austria, in the singing class of Claudia Rüggeberg and Gottfried Hornik. During this period, he participated in many performances of the studio, in concerts and in productions of the state theatre in Leoben.

In 2005, he graduated as a Bachelor from both institutes. The same year, he won a place in the Master Class of Raina Kabaivanska and until 2008, he was her scholarship holder and student.

In 2006, he received his Master's degree in classical singing from the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”. The same year, he debuted on the stage of the Sofia National Opera and Ballet in the role of Haly from “The Italian Girl in Algiers”. Dozens of performances and concerts followed in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Russia. He is a participant and laureate of a number of Bulgarian and international competitions. He participated in master classes with Vanya Boneva, Nicola Ghiuselev, Krasimira Stoyanova, Maria Slatinaru, Paul Weigold, Fiorenza Cosotto.

In addition to opera titles, his repertoire also includes Orthodox, cantata-oratorio, concert and chamber works, many of them by Bulgarian authors – Vladigerov, Hadjiev, Hristov, Kostov, but also by Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Rossini, Gounod, Boito and others.
