AIDA PASCU
The Romanian soprano graduated from the National University of Music Bucharest and is currently a Master’s degree student at the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” in Cluj. She was born to a family of operatic singers, who provided her with musical preparation from her early childhood.
She started singing in professional productions in 2008, when she was admitted into the children's choir of the National Bucharest Opera, and had many solo moments in all the concerts organized by the choir. She has also sung on other national stages of Romania, (the Romanian Athenaeum, the Radio Hall, the National Opera and Ballet Theater “Oleg Danovski” in Constanta; the Kronstadt Opera/Opera Brasov; Sibiu, Brasov, Targu Mures and Ramnicu Valcea Philharmonics), as well as Italy (Modena; Carpi), Bulgaria (National Sofia Opera; Sofia Philharmonic) the Czech Republic (Jachymov), France (Paris; Opera
Grand Avignon), Israel (Tel Aviv and Jerusalem - Henry Crown Symphony Hall). Her evolution was marked by her debut in the role of Pamina, in the opera “Die Zauberflote” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, at the Experimental Studio of Performing Arts "Ludovic
Spiess" of the National Bucharest Opera House - both events taking place in January 2019.
The same year brings many other projects, including the masterclasses with soprano Gabriela Benackova in the Czech Republic, as well as Larisa Gergieva, Eleonora Pacetti and Boiko Tzvetanov in Bucharest. In the summer of 2019, she participated in the “Lied Grand
Prix of Romania” she won the “Prize for the best interpretation of a Romanian lied”. After this accomplishment, she is invited to sing in a relevant concert, hosted by the National University of Music Bucharest, in collaboration with the Mariinsky Theater Academy of Young Singers from Saint Petersburg.
At the “Grand Prix George Enescu” competition, which took place in Paris, in October 2019, she won the Grand prize, the Public prize, the “George Enescu” prize and the Special prize of the Romanian Opera in Cluj (Grand Prix de l’Opera, Le Prix du Public, Grand Prix
“George Enescu”, Opera Cluj Special Prize). Later, in December, she celebrated the Great Union Day in Israel, singing at the “Romanian Extraordinary Gala at Jerusalem” along with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
In June 2020, she participated to another edition of the “SUCCES” program of excellence
and the international “Grand Prix of Romania” competition, where she won the “Prize for
the best interpretation of a French aria”.
In June 2021, she was a finalist in the International Singing Competition “Ionel Perlea” (Slobozia, Romania), where she won the “InArt Management Milano Special Prize” and the “Arteastic Element Special Prize” as well as a masterclass with soprano Nelly Miricioiu.
She also made her debut in the role of Contessa (“Le Nozze di Figaro”, W.A. Mozart), at The Comic Opera for Children in Bucharest.
During the month of September 2021, she participated in the Raina Kabaivanska Masterclass in Sofia, where she had the opportunity to sing in concerts at the Plovdiv Theater and the Bulgarian National Opera and Ballet. She is currently studying at the
Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Vecchi-Tonelli”, where she was offered a scholarship for the “Vocal technique and interpretation masterclass” with soprano Raina Kabaivanska.
In October 2021, she was the winner of the 1st Prize Ex Aequo at the “Luciano Neroni” International Singing Competition, in Ripatransone, Italy.
The year 2022 has brought many important opportunities and projects, the most important
of them being Aida Pascu’s debut in the role of Mimì from the opera “La bohème” by Giacomo Puccini, in December, at the National Sofia Opera.
Her roles repertoire also includes Micaëla (“Carmen”, Georges Bizet), Donna Anna (“Don Giovanni, Wolfgang Amadeuz Mozart), Fiordiligi (“Così fan tutte”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Liù (“Turandot”, Giacomo Puccini).
