On the 7th and 8th of February, the Sofia Opera will present two performances of the opera “The Magic Flute” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Director Vera Petrova’s imagination sets the story during the 1920s and 1930s and presents it in the Theater of the Night Queen, brought to life on stage.
Starring in the first performance: Petar Buchkov as Zarastro, Hrisimir Damyanov as Tamino, Silvia Teneva as Pamina, Diana Vasileva as the Night Queen, Atanas Mladenov as Papageno, Stanislava Momekova as Papagena and Plamen Dimov-Grandzhan as Monostasos.
Starring in the second performance: Angel Hristov as Zarastro, Emil Pavlov as Tamino, Eleonora Dzhodzhoska-Mladenova as Pamina (debut), Stanislava Momekova as Papagena, Krasimir Dinev as Monostasos. In the roles of the Night Queen and Papageno: Italian guest stars Kiara Maria Fiorani and Dario Giorgele.
Maria Pavlova, Natalia Stoyanova and Alexandrina Stoyanova-Andreeva will portray the Three ladies in both performances.
The performances will take place under the conductorship of Svetoslav Borisov, with the participation of the Sofia Opera orchestra and choir and the DVTF “Talasamche” children’s choir. Sofia Opera choir conductor: Violeta Dimitrova.
