The festival will open on the 26^th of June, 2025, with the premiere of the opera “Tannhäuser”: the ninth Wagner piece in our repertoire in which the best Sofia Opera lead singers as well as foreign guests will take part.

As per tradition, Richard Wagner’s famous tetralogy: “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, will also be performed. The performances will take place on the following dates: 28^th of June – “Das Rheingold”; 29^th of June – “Die Walküre”; 1^st of July – “Siegfried”; 3^rd of July – “Götterdämmerung”. Throughout the years, “Der Ring des Nibelungen” has become the Sofia Opera’s flagship, with Plamen Kartaloff’s director’s vision of the tetralogy and our Bulgarian singers’ performances being exceptionally highly praised by the international press.

On the 5^th of July, the Wagner festival will close with another showing of “Tannhäuser”.
