The National Assembly is hosting a photo exhibition "Premier Opera Spectacles", announced the press centre of the parliament on the institution's website.
The exposition was opened by the Speaker of the Parliament Nikola Minchev. He noted that it is a kind of synthesis between two types of art – opera and photography.
The exhibition presents 33 photos of the Ruse photographer Evgeni Stanimirov, which reveal the beauty of classic premiere spectacles of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, said the Speaker of the National Assembly. It includes photos from productions by authors such as Puccini, Rossini, Wagner, he added, emphasizing that the author has realized such a project at the Bucharest National Opera in connection with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Since their creation, the artists from the Sofia Opera and Ballet can boast of achievements inherent to the largest opera houses in Europe, said Nikola Minchev. He congratulated the Director of the opera Plamen Kartaloff for the fact that under his management the Sofia Opera and Ballet continues to delight the audience with a variety of premiere spectacles. The exhibits capture the talent of contemporary performers, but as a continuation of a glorious tradition, the Speaker of the Parliament said.
The Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Plamen Kartaloff pointed out that the contact between the National Assembly and the Opera is traditional. We show the Bulgarian audience what it deserves, because both our audience and our art are related to world models, he added.
