Maria Radoeva, one of the best appeared participants in the master classes of Raina Kabaivanska and the New Bulgarian University, performs the lead role in the premiere spectacle of the Sofia Opera – “La dona del lago”. The beautiful Elena is implicated in complicated love and political relations with three men, including the King of Scotland.

The young singer lives since years in Italy. She appears at the opera theatres in Modena, Torino, Verona, Luca, Pisa, etc. She is soloist of the theatre in Erl, Austria, where she triumphed in two other works by Rossini “Semiramide” and “Ermione” under the baton of Gustav Kuhn. In the last years, she came back in Bulgaria for “Orfeo ed Euridice” by Gluck at the Antique Theatre in Plovdiv and with the song cycle “Wesendonck Lieder” by Wagner on the stage of the Sofia Philharmonic.

Two more laureates of Kabaivanska’s master classes are part of the cast of “La dona del lago” – the tenor from Venezuela Reynaldo Droz and the Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Vesela Yaneva.

As BTA wrote, the main character Elena arrives with a boat from Lake Pancharevo, climbs on the stage and continues her participation in “La dona del lago”. With the premiere production of Giacomo Rossini’s opera will be opened this year the second summer festival “Muses of Water”. 

“La dona del lago” will be performed on 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 July on the new stage, the capacity of which is 800 seats. In the playbill of “Muses of Water” are included also “Mamma mia!”, “Swan Lake”, “Shrek”. In the three genres – opera, ballet and musical there will be ca. 50 spectacles.
