On 24 April, the soprano Tanya Ivanova will take part in the role of Aida from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera of the same name on the stage of the Sofia Opera. Spectacle are dedicated to the world-known tenor Kamen Chanev, honourable member of the Sofia Opera.
Tanya Ivanova graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov School of Music, and later from the Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music in Sofia.
Her debut was on the stage of the Stara Zagora State Opera in the role of Helena from the operetta “Die schöne Helena” by Offenbach under the directing of Prof. Hacho Boyadjiev.
Several years ago, she changed her repertoire from mezzo-soprano to soprano and in 2012 she performed the role of Mimi from “La Bohème” on the stage of the Burgas Opera.
In 2013, she took part in Verdi’s opera “Attila” in the frames of the Opera Festival in Plovdiv in the role of Odabella.
She recorded arias by Verdi, Puccini and Dvořák at the Bulgarian National Radio with conductor Maestro Ivan Angelov.
In season 2013/14, she performed the roles of Cio-Cio-san from “Madama Butterfly” and in “Tosca” by Puccini, Nedda from “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo and of Aida in Verdi’s “Aida” on the stages of the opera theatres in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Varna and Burgas.
In season 2014/15, she was soloist at the Plovdiv Opera, where she impersonated the roles of Lady Macbeth from Verdi’s “Macbeth”, Elisabeth from Verdi’s “Don Carlo”, Mimi from “La Bohème” and others.
In February 2015, the singer debuted on the stage of the Sofia Opera in the role of Tosca from Puccini’s opera of the same name. Then she was given a new brilliant artistic special line and impact under the directing of Plamen Kartaloff, who personally invited her for the role of Tosca in the homonymous opera by the genial Italian. The audience and the music critique expect with impatience the soprano Tanya Ivanova, to experience again with her Giacomo Puccini’s grandiose opera.
