The Sofia Opera and Ballet opens Season 2020/21 on 9 October, at 19 h, with the Bulgarian opera “Yana’s Nine Brothers” by Lyubomir Pipkov.
The production by the stage director Plamen Kartaloff was performed with great success on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, during the guest-performance of the Sofia Opera in Moscow (2018), and during Summer season 2020 it opened the first summer festival “Portal of the Two Worlds” – Tsari Mali Grad.
Conductor – Zhorzh Dimitrov, Set Designer – Sven Jonke, Costume Designer – Stanka Vauda, Choreographer – Riolina Topalova, Chorus Master – Violeta Dimitrova.
The role of Yana on 9 October will perform Lilia Kehayova. Her partners will be Petar Buchkov – Georgi the Ugly – the eldest brother, Gergana Rusekova – the Gypsy, the brothers – Hrisimir Damyanov, Nikolay Voynov, Valentin Vatev, Emil Pavlov, Rosen Nenchev, Todor Kotopanov, Kalin Dushkov and Angel Antonov.
