The Sofia Opera offers its audience an exceptional concert event. A concert whose program is an exciting close encounter with the Bulgarian Wagner singers, who were the main characters in the historical event – the journey in the world of the opera theatre of Richard Wagner. An event that was respected by audiences around the world, a fact that was talked about as the Bulgarian Bayreuth in the Balkans.

The dramaturgy of the programme offers a different degree of suggestions with a series of selected performances. The journey, skilfully selected, takes us into the world of Richard Wagner. It begins with The Valkyrie, continues with Siegfried, The Flying Dutchman, Lohengrin, Tristan and Isolde, Tannhäuser, to end with The Sunset of the Gods.

This concert is also an opportunity for a close meeting with the Bulgarian Wagner singers who participate in the exclusive programme. These are Martin Iliev, Radostina Nikolaeva, Biser Georgiev, Tsvetana Bandalovska, Mariana Zvetkova, Kostadin Andreev, Silvana Pravcheva. Each of these artists is a representative of the Bulgarian generation of Wagner singers, who have had the opportunity in time not only to establish themselves in this difficult repertoire, but also to get to know Wagner's opera theatre, an advantage that few have. Their partner in the concert is the pianist, Yolanta Smolyanova, who is an integral part of the journey of our first opera house with Richard Wagner.
