The Sofia Opera shares the news of this honor and its contribution to it with great pride. This award is a fruit of organization, being fearless in the face of risks we took ourselves with the enormous dedication and passion of all creative and technicians’ teams in turning the “Kaleto” keep into an open stage for opera and ballet performances.
For a tenth year in a row, acad. prof. Plamen Kartaloff’s innovative idea to organize and set for the first time the summer music festival “Opera at the Peaks: The Belogradchik Rocks” caused a deserved huge interest and now traditionally attract thousands of viewers both from Bulgaria and abroad.
The Sofia Opera adamantly establishes the name of this wonderous nature’s phenomenon through this new vision and turns it into an attractive cultural tourism destination. What’s more, free access has been given to the broadest audience possible so it can witness the recreation of the world-famous opera and ballet masterpieces on an open stage while being naturally close to the Belogradchik Rocks.
