Last night at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre at an exciting ceremony were handed out the annual awards of the professional dance community "IMPULS 2023".

The awards for achievements in the field of classical and contemporary dance in Bulgaria are presented for the third time on the initiative of choreographer Rosen Mihaylov. They are distributed in 9 categories. There is also a Special Award for overall contribution to the development of Bulgarian dance. The aim of the Impulse Awards is to be a forum for professional dancers to meet, to unite the dance community in a single celebration and to mark the achievements of the dance artists.

The prima ballerina and artistic director of the Sofia Opera Ballet Marta Petkova won the award for "Classical Dance Performer" in the women's category, and the young ballet dancer Simeon Atanasov was awarded in the "Classical Dance Performer" category in the men's category. Simeon is a gold medalist from the first edition of the "Sara-Nora Prima" competition held this summer in Burgas.
