"Siegfried" is the third opera in the German composer's tetralogy, premiered in August 1876 in Bayreuth. The first production of the opera in Bulgaria was realized by Plamen Kartaloff in 2012 on the stage of the Sofia Opera.

"For the sake of that most beautiful of my life's dreams – "Der junge Siegfried", I shall yet have to finish all parts of "Der Ring"; "Die Walküre" took so much out of me that I must indulge in this pleasure; I have reached the second half of the last act. [...] As I have never in my life experienced the true bliss of love, I must erect a monument to the most beautiful of all my dreams, in which from beginning to end this love shall be completely true." wrote Wagner in a letter to Franz Liszt in 1854.

In the television recording of "Siegfried", made during the grand festival of the Sofia Opera in July 2023, take part Krisztián Cser, Plamen Dimitrov, Kostadin Andreev, Krasimir Dinev, Petar Buchkov, Radostina Nikolaeva, Vesela Yaneva, Ayla Dobreva.

The director of the spectacl, as well as the TV version, is Plamen Kartaloff, the set designer is Hans Kudlich and the costumes are by Hristiana Zorbalieva. To this fantastic team we add Andrej Hajdinjak with his lighting art and Ivan Lipchev – the author of the multimedia.
