Due to the huge interest in the musical "The Sound of Music" by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II the Sofia Opera announced 4 more special performances in April.
The dates and times of the performances are as follows:
On 7 April – at 14 h and 19 h
On 13 April – at 11 h
On 14 April – at 10 h
The production of the musical is the work of a Broadway team with direction by West Hyler, set design by Jeremy Barnett, lighting by Zach Blaine, costumes by Whitney Locher and choreography by Riolina Topalova.
Conductors are Igor Bogdanov and Svetoslav Lazarov.
Vesela Delcheva will be Maria, who will make Captain von Trapp's children sing, and the little rascals are from Dimitar Kostantsaliev's Children vocal and drama ensemble “Talasamche”. We will see Aleksandar Georgiev as Captain von Trapp himself. Alexandrina Stoyanova-Andreeva, Silvana Pravcheva, Mariana Zvetkova, Diana Dimitrova, Rada Toteva, Tsveta Sarambelieva, Nikolay Pavlov, Nikolay Voynov, Anton Radev, Plamen Granjean are in the other main roles.
"The Sound of Music" is a lovely fairy tale that leaves no one indifferent, which brings mood and turns the experience into a real family holiday.
