The opera "Lohengrin" is the premiere spectacle that opens the Wagner Festival in Sofia on 13 June. This year, the production will also feature the Bulgarian National Radio Male Choir, announced Acad. Plamen Kartaloff, director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet:
"For more than a year we have been discussing how our National Radio with the Radio's musical ensembles can be part of our playing bill. "Lohengrin" was the title that unites us in the effectiveness of having the Radio Male Choir and it is one of the main participants in our spectacle".
Director General of BNR Milen Mitev said that it was an honour for the National Radio to work together with the opera and to be part of the spectacle "Lohengrin":
"We are honoured to be part of the premiere of the opera "Lohengrin" and to work together with, I dare say – the most prestigious cultural institution in Bulgaria in recent years. In recent years, the opera has not only filled its halls, the opera has gone outdoors, the opera has gone abroad, the opera is a shining example of Bulgarian cultural diplomacy that brings good news for Bulgaria around the world. It is also a pleasure for us to cover the successes of opera, as it is an art that has remained untarnished by time and I believe that the work of our colleagues from Sofia Opera and Ballet is always a source of prestige."
The director of the production is Plamen Kartaloff and the world-famous opera prima Anna Tomowa-Sintow has prepared the soloists.
