On the 20th of October, Daniel Ostretsov will debut as Lohengrin in Plamen Kartaloff’s impressive production of Wagner’s opera of the same name.
This will be a third Wagner role for the tenor who performed brilliantly as Loge in “Das Rheingold” as well as the Helmsman in “The Flying Dutchman”.
“Daniel Ostretsov portrayed Loge with a comical and ironic tone which enhanced the character’s authenticity”, American critic John DiGaetani wrote.
“Daniel Ostretsov played an entertaining and sarcastic Loge with his stable tenor voice. His performance stood out with his dynamic presence on stage and the playful ironic shade which appropriately expressed the ambivalence of Loge’s character”, German Wagner expert Dirk Schauss commented.
