On 12 April the ballet "The Great Gatsby" will transform the stage of the Sofia Opera into a spectacular scene from the "Jazz Age".
Francis Scott Fitzgerald himself portrayed the 1920s in this way and in his novel "The Great Gatsby" created a thrilling story about the glamorous world and lavish life of the American upper class, but also about a mysterious rich man who falls victim to his own love and beliefs.
Internationally acclaimed choreographer Leo Mujić is staging "The Great Gatsby" on the Sofia stage, following the huge success of the production at the Slovenian National Opera Theatre in Ljubljana in 2019. He selected the music himself, which includes compositions by American composers George Gershwin, Samuel Barber, Benny Goodman, Leonard Bernstein, Philip Glass, Glenn Miller and George Whitefield Chadwick.

There are only seven performances – 12, 13, 14, 25, 26, 27 and 28 April.
