Marta Petkova presents the latest premiere of our National Ballet – "The Great Gatsby", which will be performed on the stage of the Sofia Opera on 12, 13 and 14 April.
In a production by the famous Croatian choreographer Leo Mujić, the ballet will immerse us in the atmosphere of the Jazz Age of the 1920s. "The music is by American composers, it's jazzy – it's absolutely "Gatsby" and I can say that the ballet is also very much influenced by the film – frame by frame it goes like a plot," says the prima ballerina and director of our National Ballet.
"Our audiences love a story, they love a narrative, not a ballet for its own sake," she stresses.
„Нашата публика обича история, обича разказ, а не самоцелен балет“, подчертава тя.
