Marta Petkova and Nikola Hadzhitanev dance in different casts of the ballet “Le Corsaire” by Adolphe Adam.

The spectacles are on 11 and 12 June, informed the hosts from the Sofia Opera.

The names of two of the most eminent soloists of the ballet are often partners. This time, however, on 11 June Marta Petkova will be in the company of Tsetso Ivanov, and also of Sofia Tsutsakova-Abenanty, Georgi Banchev, Trifon Mitev, Vyara Ivancheva, Venera Hristova, Kristina Chochanova-Ivanova.

The next day the cast is Boryana Petrova, Nikola Hadzhitanev, Sofia Tsutsakova-Abenanty, Georgi Banchev, Trifon Mitev, Vyara Ivancheva, Venera Hristova, Kristina Chochanova-Ivanova.

“Le Corsaire” is among the well-known classical ballets, which we included with great joy in our repertoire” – said Sara-Nora Krysteva, Artistic Director of the ballet company.

Choreographer is Eldar Aliev, а world-known ballet dancer, choreographer and pedagogue, who in 2014 was in the jury of the International Ballet Competition in Varna. He is author of the libretto, and also Lighting Designer of the original and dynamic version of the work of art. Since 1992, he has been working in the USA, where he was invited as leading soloist in the company of Ballet International (Ballet Theatre of Indianapolis), and soon after he became its Artistic Director.
