On 15 December the Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality Assoc. Prof. Todor Chobanov handed out the Golden Ring Award to the world-known baritone Kiril Manolov.

At the meeting were present Academician Prof. Plamen Kartaloff, Prof. Plamen Dzhurov, representatives of Sofia Municipality and of the Sofia Opera.

The baritone Kiril Manolov thanked for the showed honour to be awarded with the Golden Ring. He underlined that he had to be awarded this distinction still in 2009. Then the singer was winner at the 14^th Boris Christoff International Competition for Young Opera Singers. The international jury with President the great Bulgarian singer and pedagogue Alexandrina Miltcheva awarded him the prize, the beginning of which was in 1992.

Academician Prof. Plamen Kartaloff and Prof. Plamen Dzhurov congratulated Kiril Manolov and promised to revive the Boris Christoff International Competition for Young Opera Singers.

Sofia Opera congratulated the award on the baritone Kiril Manolov and wished him good luck!
