The winner of the Maria Callas Tribute Prize NY 2019 and of the First Prize of the Italian Città di Alcamo International Competition for Opera Singers (2018) Diana Guglina enters in the role of Elektra for the second time after November 2020 in the new production of the Sofia Opera.
This time, she will appear on the stage on 12 March.
“Richard Strauss is among my most favourite composers”, said the singer before Radio Sofia. – “The story, which is told in “Elektra” is universal, the music is very beautiful.”
After Guglina’s words, namely listening of music and studying of new roles gives her forces in the difficult for the entire culture sector times.

- Diana Guglina is a cosmopolite singer. She was born in Sofia, grew up in Egypt, studied violin, ballet and piano at the Cairo Opera Theatre and continued her education in Switzerland.
On the opera stages in France, England, Belgium and Switzerland, Diana Guglina appeared in “Carmen” by Bizet, “Hänsel und Gretel” by Humperdinck, “Die Csárdásfürstin” by Kálmán, “Naïs” by Rameau and many others. She took part at festivals as the Britten-Pears Centenary in Aldeburgh and at the Ealing Music & Film Festival in London, Theatre Night at Théâtre royal de la Monnaie in Brussels.
Besides the roles in works by Strauss, Wagner, Puccini and Verdi, her repertoire is rich in the song genre. Specially for her were written works by contemporary composers.
