Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's children's adaptation of the opera "Die Zauberflöte" will open this year's edition of the Summer Festival "Opera in the Park". The spectacle will take place on 25 June at 11:00 h in the park of the G.S. Rakovski Academy of Defence, said the organizers.
The forum is being organized for the 13th consecutive year and will continue with "Hänsel und Gretel" by Engelbert Humperdinck on 26 June.
In June, the Sofia Opera and Ballet's programme includes the ballet "One Thousand and One Nights" (1 June), "La Cenerentola" by Gioachino Rossini (5 June), "Rigoletto" by Giuseppe Verdi (8 June), "Norma" by Vincenzo Bellini (11 June), "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini (12 June), Richard Wagner's stage mystery "Parsifal" (18 June), "Swan Lake" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (24 June), "Carmina Burana" to Carl Orff’s music (25 June) and "Zorba the Greek" (26 June).
With "Don Carlo" by Verdi, on 4 June, were celebrated 30 years of artistic activity of Yulian Konstantinov in the role of Filippo II.
