With a festive jubilee concert was opened the fifth edition of the Opera of the Peaks Summer Festival – Belogradchik Rocks 2020, dedicated to 170 years of the Belogradchik Rebellion.
This year the edition is held in the summer cinema theatre in Belogradchik.
The Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Acad. Plamen Kartaloff opened the festival together with the Mayor of the city Mr. Boris Nikolov.
"The fifth edition of the festival is a homage before the feat of the heroes from the rebellion in 1850", said Maestro Kartaloff.
In the concert took part the soloists of the Sofia Opera – Radostina Nikolaeva, Angel Hristov, Gergana Rusekova, Veselin Mihaylov, Gabriela Georgieva, Hrisimir Damyanov, Atanas Mladenov, Martin Iliev, Daniel Damyanov, Silvana Pravcheva, Tsvetana Bandalovska and the orchestra of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. Conductor – Zhorzh Dimitrov.
With wild applauses the audience managed to win for an encore a second performance of “Toast” from “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi, in performance of all soloists from the Sofia Opera, participating in the concert.
The programme of Opera of the Peaks continues with two performances – a present for the youngest audience. Tonight, 22 August, at 18 h will be presented "Die Zauberflöte" by W.A. Mozart – an adapted version for children, and on 23 August, at 18 h the festival will be closed with the music story “The Three Piggies” by Al. Raichev.
