Acad. Plamen Kartaloff, director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet has received a spot on the Opera Europa board of leadership; he is the first Bulgarian to acquire such a position, BTA was informed by the Sofia Opera.
Opera Europa is an organization which works together with professional opera companies and festivals throughout entire Europe. At the moment, it has over 240 members from 46 different countries.
The Opera Europa board of directors is headed by Martin Glazer, director of the Brno National theater. His deputy directors are Serge Dorni (Germany) and Iva Hraste-Socho (Croatia). Besides acad. Kartaloff, there are twelve other members of the board: from the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Norway, Spain and Belgium.
