The Brazilian soprano will sing for the first time the role in a spectacle
The Brazilian soprano Daniella Carvalho will make her debut as Liù in “Turandot” on 21 February on the stage of Sofia Opera and Ballet. The performer, who was born in Rio de Janeiro, has sung the role, but in a concert version in New Jersey and she is very excited about her first participation in a spectacle of the opera by Puccini on the stage of Sofia Opera and Ballet. She graduated singing at “Manhattan School of Music” in the USA, where she has been living since 16 years. She made her debut with a recital on the stage of “Carnegie Hall” in New York as winner at the Artists International Competition. Daniella Carvalho was admired by the critique because of her “dark-wine expressive voice” in combination with her unique presence on stage. Daniella has a rich presence in music, theatre and dance, with the distinguishing marks of a distinctly engaged artist. Many and different are her participations in her native Brazil – Gerhilde from “Die Walküre” in Rio de Janeiro, Amelia in “Un balo in maschera” at the Amazon Opera Festival, Tosca with the orchestra of the State Sergipe, participations in operas by Stravinsky, Puccini and Bizet in Sao Paolo. She has sung on stages in Italy and Austria. Her participation in the production by Plamen Kartaloff of “Turandot” is the debut of Daniella Carvalho on the stage of Sofia Opera and Ballet.
