On 23 February, the soprano Silvia Teneva will make her debut in the role of Liù from “Turandot” by Puccini on the stage of Sofia Opera and Ballet.
Silvia Teneva was born in Sofia. She studied at the National Music School “Lyubomir Pipkov”. Initially, she studied clarinet and piano, but graduated the school with singing. She continued her education at the State Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov”, in the opera singing class of prof. Niko Isakov.
In 2006 and in 2008 she took part in the master class of the eminent opera singer Stefka Evstatieva, and in 2008 – in the master class of the prima Raina Kabaivanska. The following year – 2009, she was already her scholarship student at the academy “Chigiana”, Siena, Italy. She has been scholarship student also of Foundation “Boris Christoff” in Rome.
She made her debut at Stara Zagora Opera in the role of Zerlina from “Don Giovanni” by Mozart. In 2008 she sang for the first time on the stage of Sofia Opera and Ballet in the role of Lauretta from “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini. The same year she performed also the role of Pedro in the opera “Don Quichotte” by Massenet. In this period, she made her debut at Varna Opera in the role of Mimi from “La Bohème” by Puccini.
The young singer is laureate of the National Competition for Young Opera Singers “Hristo Brambarov”, as well as of the International Competition for German and Austrian Music – Burgas. She is laureate of the National Competition “Svetoslav Obretenov”.
Silvia Teneva has worked with well-known conductors as Vassil Kazandjiev, Grigor Palikarov, Francesco Rosa, as well as with the director Plamen Kartaloff.
She has given series of concerts in Italy.
