Maestro Plamen Kartaloff is winner of the annual Zonta Club of Saint Sofia 2019 Award
At a stylish party at the Sofia Opera and Ballet was handed out the annual Zonta Club of Saint Sofia Award. The award with an image of the Saint Sofia Church and the Zonta International Emblem received Academician Plamen Kartaloff for his engagement and contribution to the efforts for empowerment of women, for equal rights of the sexes. The Sofia Opera and Zonta Club of Saint Sofia have realized several very successful joint initiatives for access of children and women in unequal footing to art, in the fight against aggression and violence against women and children. In his short and agitated speech, Plamen Kartaloff thanked for the respect and promised that the Sofia Opera and Ballet will continue to realize projects for improvement of the state of the women and the children in social, political, health and educational aspect.
In 2019, Zonta International, the most influential female organization is 100-years old, and Zonta Club of Saint Sofia celebrates its 15th Anniversary. At the occasion of the jubilee, the ladies from Zonta Club of Saint Sofia are holding a series of campaigns and events under the title “From the past, through the present, we think about the future!”
Winners of the club’s award were Yordanka Fandakova and the National Palace of Culture.
Nadezhda Stoycheva, co-founder and Director of the Association Animus Foundation, was handed out a Jubilee Honorary Diploma for Contribution.
The celebration joined ladies from the Italian Alba Langhe Roero Club and this way both clubs marked the 5th Anniversary since their twinning.
