The spectacle – part of the Opera of the Peaks Festival on the Belogradchik Rocks will be performed on 27, 28 and 29 July at 11 h in the Magura Cave
This is one of the festival’s special events, which the Sofia Opera and Ballet offers as a present to its visitors. The unique in its nature cave impression in three parts “Wagner – Magura” tells in an unforgettable for the audience way a story about Gods, Giants, Dwarfs and Valkyries. Through Wagner’s music the spectators have the chance during two hours to become witnesses of magical experiences, recreated in scenes from Wagner’s operas, which are performed in the cave, shared the author of the nonstandard idea and director of the spectacle Academician Plamen Kartaloff. And he added that he was provoked for the realization of this project also by a historical fact, and namely – by the wish of the Bavarian king Ludwig II to listen to Wagner’s music not only in his royal chambers, but in a cave too. It sounds also today under the artificially shaped rocky arches in the park of the Linderhof Palace, constructed by the ruler, told further Academician Kartaloff. He is expecting the visitors of the cave impression to sense the feeling of adventure, which will offer them the natural set and Richard Wagner’s magical music. An adventure, which will finish with one of the most often performed parts of the composer’s operas – “The Ride of the Valkyries” and with degustation of wine, produced and stored in the regional Magura cellar.
The feelings and emotions of Gods, Giants, Dwarfs and Valkyries in front of the spectators will present the artists: Nikolay Petrov, Daniel Ostretsov, Biser Georgiev, Ilia Iliev, Krasimir Dinev, Stefan Vladimirov, Petar Buchkov, Silvana Pravcheva, Angelina Mancheva, Irina Zhekova, Lilia Kehayova, Ina Petrova, Mariela Aleksandrova, Tsveta Sarambelieva, Aleksandrina Stoyanova-Andreeva, Blagovesta Mekki-Tsvetkova, Martin Iliev.
