The theatre’s Director Plamen Kartaloff was an honoured guest at the 4th Congress of the National Tourism Board
In the presence of dozens representatives of the touristic and hotel business from the whole country and many guests from abroad at the Holiday Inn Hotel was opened the 4th Congress of the National Tourism Board, organized jointly with the Hotel Investment Forum. The Forum is held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov. Greeting at the opening of the 2-day forum gave the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelakova.
The Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Plamen Kartaloff was invited as honoured guest by the forum’s organizers. The President of the Commission for the Culture and the Media in the 44th National Assembly Vezhdi Rashidov emphasized in his statement the role of the Sofia Opera and personally of Acad. Kartaloff for the attraction of foreign audience and for his contribution for growing the number of tourists, who choose Bulgaria as destination namely because of the theatre’s opera and ballet spectacles. Rashidov shared personal impressions from the guest-performance of the Sofia Opera in Füssen, Germany and the enthusiastic comments, which he continues to receive from there and from Japan after its last performance there. The moderator of the theme “The free stage of modern art as an invention in tourism” Assoc. Prof. Rumen Draganov invited the Director of our first opera theatre to make a statement beyond the official programme. Plamen Kartaloff thanked for the high appreciation and appealed for as soon as possible constitution of a Museum of the Bulgarian Opera Glory through placing at the disposal to the Opera of two floors of the adjacent building at 1, Vrabcha Str. After the consent this to happen on behalf of the District Administration and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, at the moment is expected the answer of the Ministry of Culture. Vezhdi Rashidov expressed his support for the constitution of the museum and promised cooperation.
