In “Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky her partner will be Aleksandar Aleksandrov
The soloist of the ballet of the Sofia Opera Boryana Petrova is in a feverish preparation of her next debut. This time the audience will see her as Aurora in Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet “Sleeping Beauty” on 4.06 at 16.00 h.
“Aurora, Giselle and Juliette are the three roles for which I have dreamt since a student. I am exceptionally happy that I received the chance to dance the main role in “Sleeping Beauty”. My partner will be Aleksandar Aleksandrov – an exceptional professional and a good partner. The spectacle is quite hard physically to perform and in style it is one of the most demanding in the classical repertoire. I feel very good, because of the atmosphere in our team. The cast is very rejuvenated as a whole. There are many new colleagues, including foreigners. We help each other, we support each other”, says Boryana several hours before the general rehearsal for the spectacle.
Boryana Petrova is a pupil of the National School of Dance Art. She passed a training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2009, she entered the ballet of the Sofia Opera, where she has been soloist since 2013.
Her repertoire includes roles in “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky, “Coppélia” by Delibes, Kitri from “Don Quixote” by Minkus, “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovsky, “Giselle” by Adam, “Zorba the Greek” by Theodorakis.
