The soloists of the Sofia Opera and Ballet are among the awarded 24 artists of the Bulgarian culture
The soloists of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, the soprano Mariana Zvetkova and the premier soloist of the ballet Nikola Hadzhitanev, were awarded a “Golden feather” by the founders of the award – Classic FM Radio and Makta Gallery. During the 22nd ceremony for the awards, which took place for the first time under the cupola of the Largo of antique Serdika, the distinction received 24 eminent representatives of the Bulgarian culture. On the Day of the Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture and the Slavonic Alphabet, their 24-carat feathers, made by the artist Tsveti Kirov, received the Major of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, the opera prima Stefka Evstatieva, who since years lives in the USA, the folk singer Yanka Rupkina, the trainer Neshka Robeva, the musicians Bedros Papazyan and Prof. Anatoly Krastev, the actors Filip Trifonov and Militsa Gladnishka, the composer Georgi Arnaudov, the journalists Goran Blagoev and Zheni Marcheva.

Among the institutions, which were awarded the distinction, were the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, the Sredets Folklore Ensemble and the Municipal House of Culture “Iskar”.
By the receiving of the award from the conductor Grigor Palikarov, the soprano Mariana Zvetkova pointed out that a duty of the performers from her generation is to offer to the younger ones everything, to which they were taught by their professors and colleagues from the golden generation Bulgarian and world opera singers. “To whom it is given, one expects much from him”, said she and performed a song by Yovcho Krushev, with whom recently, together with the soprano Tsvetana Bandalovska, they gave a song recital after his works and songs by Rachmaninoff.
Nikola Hadzhitanev was awarded a “Golden feather” as winner in this year’s inquiry among the listeners of Classic FM Radio. The distinction was handed over to him by the founders of the award Vasil Dimitrov and Tsveti Kirov.
