The spectacles are on 11 and 12 May at 19:00 h at the Sofia Opera
The well-known Romanian soprano Diana Tugui will be guest-performer as Violetta Valéry, and our famous baritone Kiril Manolov as Giorgio Germont in the production of “La traviata” on 11 and 12 May at 19:00 h. Participants are also: as Alfredo – Daniel Damyanov and Daniel Ostretsov, Giorgio Germont will be presented also by Plamen Papazikov.
Diana Tugui is a graduate of the University of Music in Bucharest with major Classical singing. She presented herself brilliantly in the master classes of Viorica Cortez, Dalton Baldwin, Teresa Berganza and Jaume Aragall. She is laureate of a series of national and international competitions: Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition, Jaume Aragall Concurs Internacional de Cant, Vox Artis International Competition and others.
Since 2003, she is soloist of the Craiova Opera /Romania/.
Her repertoire includes: Pamina – “Die Zauberflöte”, Susanna – “Le nozze di Figaro”, Donna Anna – “Don Giovanni” by Mozart, Liù – “Turandot”, Mimi and Musetta – “La bohème” by Puccini; Michaela – “Carmen” by Bizet, Gilda – “Rigoletto”, Violetta – “La traviata” by Verdi; Adina – “L’elisir d’amore”, Lucia – “Lucia di Lammermoor”.
Kiril Manolov was born in Sofia in 1976, where he studied singing at the National Academy of Music. He is winner of prizes from different singing competitions in Bulgaria and also in Vienna, Warsaw, Barcelona and Brescia. He made his debut at the National Academy of Music in Sofia as Don Giovanni.
His repertoire includes some of the most dramatic baritone roles: Nabucco (“Nabucco”), Simon Boccanegra (“Simon Boccanegra”), Amonasro (“Aida”), Marcelo (“La bohème”), Enrico (“Lucia di Lammermoor”), Germont (“La traviata”), Renato (“Un ballo in maschera”), Figaro (“Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Dandini (“La cenerentola”), Falstaff (“Falstaff”), Escamillo (“Carmen”), Carlo Gérard (“Andrea Chénier”).
Manolov sang in Puccini’s triptych at the Rome Opera; Dulcamara (“L’elisir d’amore”) at Deutsche Oper Berlin and in Seville; Don Pasquale (“Don Pasquale”) in Darmstadt; Sharpless (“Madama Butterfly”) in Las Palmas; Falstaff (“Falstaff”) with Riccardo Muti at the Opera Festival in Savonlinna, at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Reggio Emilia, Ferrara, Savona, Trieste, Budapest, Ravenna and Lucca; Nabucco (“Nabucco”) at the Caracalla Summer Festival, in Trieste and at the Opera at the Square Festival with the Sofia Opera, where he performed the parties of Don Carlo di Vergas from “La forza del destino” and Giorgio Germont from “La traviata”. He sang with great success in the new production of “Falstaff” with Maestro Riccardo Muti at the Ravenna Festival and in Oviedo in June 2015. The Italian critics declared him for the best Falstaff in the world.
