The Brazilian Amanda Gomes will be guest-performer as Kitri in the ballet “Don Quixote” by Ludwig Minkus at the Sofia Opera and Ballet on 14 May.

Amanda Gomes was born in Brazil. She graduated from the Bolshoi Theatre School in her motherland in 2011 in the class of Galina Kravchenko.
She was First Prize winner and Gold Medal winner at the Varna International Ballet Competition and winner of the Prize of the Sofia Opera and Ballet – participation in a spectacle (2016). She was awarded the Second Prize and Special Prize at the International Ekaterina Maximova Arabesque Competition of Ballet Dancers (2014) in Perm, she was finalist at the Moscow International Ballet Competition (2013), First Prize winner at the Youth American Grand Prix (2013), First Prize winner at the International Ballet Competition in Istanbul (2012). She was also prize winner at many other competitions.
She is Principal Soloist at the Tatar State Opera and Ballet in Kazan.
