ROSEN NENCHEV
He studied mathematics, finances and finance management before dedicating himself to the opera singing, which since a child he considered for his vocation. He graduated from the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia and the Marziali Academy of Music in Milan. His debut was in Bergamo in 2010 in the role of Gastone from “La traviata”. He has worked with the vocal pedagogues Georgi Deliganev, the students of whom are Orlin and Ventsislav Anastasov; Evgenia Dundekova. He specialized with Anna Vandi and Valentina Marraffa at the Boris Christoff Academy in Rome in 2016. Recently he has been working with our famous soprano Krassimira Stoyanova.
Determining for his career of an opera singer Rosen Nenchev considers his meeting with the bass Franco Federici, whose debut was at “La scala” at the age of 26 with Maria Callas. After maestro Federici's death, Rosen Nenchev decided temporarily to withdraw from the opera stage. He came back three years later with his impressive singer’s and actor’s debut as Lensky in “Eugene Onegin” at the Sofia Opera in 2016. Namely with Lensky’s aria “Where, where” he was approved and included in the last moment in the master class of the world tenor José Carreras in Pesaro in January this year. When he heard him, Maestro Carreras exclaimed “What a beautiful voice!” He personally chose Rosen to sing immediately before his star participation in the concluding concert of the master class in the hall of the Conservatory in Pesaro, with the Rossini Festival Symphonic Orchestra. “Maestro Carreras amazed me with his natural behaviour and with his real comradely attitude. He helped every one of us to acquire a better self-confidence as a professional. I have remembered his personal advice to me “Be yourself!”
Rosen Nenchev received the ovations of the audience as Ismael in “Nabucco” with director Plamen Kartaloff at the Opera on the square Summer Festival in July 2016. He has sung on stages in Milan (“Piccola scala”), Como, Varna, Cremona, Pesaro. He dreams to make a debut on the stage of “La scala”. His repertoire includes “La traviata”, “Nabucco”, “Un ballo in maschera”, “Madama Butterfly”, “Lucia Lammermoor”, “Le nozze di Figaro”.
He was finalist at the jubilee X edition of the Magda Olivero International Competition for performers in Milan in November 2016.
