Sofia Opera and Ballet was awarded the Golden Muse for the production of the opera "Eugene Onegin" by P.I. Tchaikovsky. The Golden Muses were awarded for 20th time for contribution to the Bulgarian-Russian cultural cooperation.
In the competent jury were included eminent names with contribution to the Bulgarian art and culture among who was also the Director of Sofia Opera and Ballet Plamen Kartaloff, representatives of Sofia Municipality, of the Russian Embassy in our country and of the Russian Cultural and Information Centre.
Special guest at the festivities was Joseph Kobzon, winner of the St. Sofia Award for 2007. The ceremony was visited also by the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in our country His Excellency Yuriy Isakov.
The event took place on 12 May in the Marble Hall of the Russian Cultural and Information Centre. The Prize of Sofia Opera was awarded by Georgi Yordanov, Ex-Minister of Culture.
