Biography

Virineia Pîrnău – Soprano

Virineia Pîrnău was born in Orhei, Republic of Moldova and began to study music at the age of 8 at the music school, choral conducting and canto specialization.

In 2012, becomes a pupil at the "Stefan Neaga" Music College, choral conducting specialization, in the same time studying classical singing at the class of professor Vladimir Vichilu. During this period of time, she won several prizes at national and international competitions, including:

  • First Prize at the Classical Music Festival ,,Music – identity among young people” (2014, Cernăuți, Ucraina);
  • Second Prize at the National Singing Competition „Achim Stoia” (2015, Iași, România);
  • Second Prize at the National Singing Contest „Emanuel Elenescu” (2015, Piatra Neamț, România);
  • First Prize for active participation and artistry at the contest „Victoria 70”, dedicated to patriotic lyrical songs (2015, Chișinău, Republica Moldova).

In 2016, she becomes a student at the National University of Music in Bucharest, specializing in Canto Clasic. After graduation in 2020 she becomes her studies at master degree at Conf.dr. Iulia Isaev class. Virineia graduated master degree in 2022. During the six years of studies, she have participated at different concerts that were held in cultural institutions such as the Romanian Athenaeum and the Şuţu Museum. In 2017 participates at the Festival of Independent Opera in Iasi where she played the role of one of the four vivendiers in the opera "L'elisir d'amore" by G.Donizetti, directed by Ştefan Neagrău. In the summer of 2019 participates at Art Song Competition of the International Excellence Training Program for the performing arts „Succes” in wich she participated al masterclasses by Eleonora Pacetti, Larisa Ghergieva, John Allison, Boiko Țvetanov.  In november 2019 participates at Concert „In memoriam Vladimir Vichilu” with The Orchestra of the National Opera House „Maria Bieșu” al Organ Hall, Chișinău, conducted by Nicolae Dohotaru.

Between 24 july – 8 august 2021 she participated at Icon Arts Project, where she participated at masterclasses by Aura Twarowska, Cristian Hodrea and Veronica Anușca. There și performed at concert in Biertan fortified church. Between 20-26 september she participated at Sibiu Opera Festival „Take an Opera Break” where she performed at the Opera Gala Concert with Philharmonic Orchestra Sibiu conducted by Vlad Conta. On 28 october 2021 she organized a solo concert of Russian Art Songs with pianist Ioana Demetra Gîrleanu at Russian House in Bucharest. The next year, on 23 february she repeteated the solo concert of Russian Art Songs in the George Enescu Hall at National University of Music Bucharest.

Between 8 september and 2 october she has been selected to participate at Masterclass of Raina Kabaivanska and on 2 october 2022 she participated at Opera Gala at the end of this Masterclass with the Sofia Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Nayden Todorov.

Becomes laureate of the national and international singing contests:

  • Third Prize at the National Singing Competition „Victor Giuleanu” (2018, București, România);
  • First Prize at the National Singing Competition „Emil Pinghiriac” (2018, București, România);
  • First Prize at the National Interpretation Contest „Dan Cumpătă” (2018, București, România);
  • First Prize at the National Interpretation Contest „Ada Ulubeanu” (2019, București, România);
  • Third Prize at the National Singing Competition „Tiberiu Brediceanu” (2019, Lugoj, România)
  • Finalist of the Art Song Competition of the International Excellence Training Program for the performing arts „Succes” (2019, București, România);
  • First Prize and the Special Prize „Emil și Georgeta Pinghiriac” at the Remember Enescu International Competition (2019, Bușteni, România);
  • Special Prize at Icon Arts Project (2021, Richiș, Romania);
  • Participation at International Singing Competition „Georges Enesco” (2021, Paris, France);
  • Finalist at Belcanto Competition (2022, Târgoviște, Romania).
