Biography
Vesselin Mihaylov was born in Burgas. He graduated in classical singing at the National Academy of Music, master's program under the guidance of Prof. Maria Belcheva.
He is a scholarship holder of the Gallery of Bulgarian Talents, the Boris Christoff Foundation and the Raina Kabaivanska Foundation. He completed a course at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome and a Raina Kabaivanska Master Class in Modena with the support of the Raina Kabaivanska Foundation to the New Bulgarian University.
His repertoire includes the roles of Escamillo in "Carmen" and Zurga in Bizet's "Les Pêcheurs de Perles"; Abimélech in "Samson et Dalila" by Saint-Saens (directed by Hugo de Ana); Paris in Gounod's "Roméo et Juliettte"; Marcello in "La Bohème" and Marco in "Gianni Schicchi" by Puccini; Alfio in Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana"; Amonasro in Verdi's "Aida"; Igor in "Prince Igor" by Borodin; Onegin in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin"; Shchelkalov in "Boris Godunov" by Mussorgsky and others.
He has taken part in spectacles and concerts at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, in the Bulgaria Hall, at the Bulgarian cultural centers in Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Prague. He has also sung in Germany and Switzerland.
