Biography
Orlin Anastassov is one of the leading basses of the opera panorama in the last 20 years. He started very early winning the Operalia Placido Domingo competition which was followed by his debut at the La Scala theatre in the role of Don Basilio in the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia.
From that moment his carrier started and brought him on the most important stages in the world: Teatro La Scala, Covent Garden, Metropolitan, Grand Opera Paris, Staatsoper Wien and Munich and many others.
His repertoire includes more than 50 roles from Italian, French and Russian composers. He has sung with many of the most important opera voices and artists as Ghena Dimitrova, Placido Domingo, Fiorenza Cosotto, Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci , Mirella Freni etc.
He performed under famous conducter like Riccardo Chailly, Sir Colin Davis, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Oren, George Pretre, Valery Ghergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, Maris Jansons and others.
He also took part in several productions signed by famous stage directors like: Franco Zefirelli, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Andrey Konchalovsky, Terry Gilliam, Dario Argento, David Mc Vicar, Hugo de Ana etc.
His concert performances brought him to perform with orchestras like Royal Concertgebow , New York Philarmonic, London Simphony , Gewandhouse etc.
