Biography
Set designer and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. He has designed more than one hundred and fifty sets, mainly for Opera, Ballet and Musical. His works have been win prize and presented in the most important theaters in Italy, and in much of the world (France, Spain, Germany, Korea, Brazil, Russia, Finland, Estonia, Croatia, Canada...). Particularly active in Japan where he debuted in Biwako in the 2000s for various Verdi titles conducted by Maestro Wakasughi and directed by Keisuke Suzuki. Many Japanese productions with Marco Gandini Director for Showa University, Japan Opera Foundation, Nissay and Bunka Kaikan Theatre.
He has also dealt with the design of exhibition spaces. He worked many years as a technical director in opera theaters. The latest Musical productions were: “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, Fame”, “Rocky”.
Recently his Opera scenographies have been: "Zaide" by Mozart at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome directed by Graham Vick and conducted by Daniele Gatti.
At the Teatro Real in Madrid "Don Pasquale" conducted by Riccardo Muti. "Simon Boccanegra" was staged in Seoul conducted by maestro M. Chung and directed by Marco Gandini and with the same direction in Salzburg "Betulia Liberata" by Mozart conducted by Riccardo Muti. "Viaggio a Reims" and "Farnace" at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He debuted in the 2011s in Russia with “Trovatore” at Novaya Opera.
