Onwards to the world of fairy tales!
The three good fairies – Grace, Harmony and Emotion, come to us to take us to a place full of wonders – "The Tale of the Sleeping Beauty".
A castle, a King and Queen, a little Princess and a terrible curse that weighs on her.
Will Good be able to win this time too?
The musical "The Three Fairies and the Sleeping Beauty", a stage adaptation of Charles Perrault's fairy tale, is in tune with the real problems of children, their right to choose, and the hopes, disappointments and ambitions of their parents ("fairy godmothers").
The difficulty of the vocal parts, the choreographic fragments and the acting tasks is an ambitious provocation of the talent and skills of our pupils.
The stage adaptation of Charles Perrault's tale revisits the theme of good and evil. Here, the main characters are the three fairies who bestow the Sleeping Beauty with "everything". The theme of personal choice and "what to do with our lives" is brought to the forefront of the libretto. In the person of the fourth fairy, Amnesia, appears the opportunity for re-evaluation and reflection, on the meaning of human life; how to use our skills and talents, how to live with dignity and leave something behind. Another important theme in the musical is that of the enormous responsibility of today's parents in educating and raising their children. Through the new content and presentation of common human values, we aim at rethinking and rediscovering them; the acceptance of the other, of the different from you; his right to personal choice.
The power of love remains the main theme and storyline of the spectacle. It is love that provides the solution to this conflict; it is the key that can "reconcile" parents and their children. In the spirit of traditional Christian virtues, love is that which abides beyond all that is perishable, beyond all of life's "successes" and "failures," beyond unrealized and realized ambitions, guilt and a sense of the meaning of life. This sense of our role on this earth is present as a final poem, presented in a form that is accessible to children.
The musical's messages are as much to the children themselves as to their parents. The challenge to the old ones, the ability to accept the child as a full person – something too difficult sometimes.
