The scenic cantata “Carmina Burana” (score by Carl Orff) enchanted the audience this Sunday afternoon. Tickets for the performance were sold out weeks before it took place.
The Italian ballet master Freddy Franzutti created the vision for this version of “Carmina Burana”. He was in charge of choreography, directorship, artistic lighting and costumes.
Vocal parts were performed by Stanislava Momekova (soprano), Ventseslav Anastasov (baritone) and our guest from Canada: Nicholas Burns (countertenor).
The lead ballet dancers in this thrilling production were Pamela Pandova-Baneva, Christina Chochanova, Emil Yordanov, Alexandar Alexandrov, Kristian Manev, Tomas Ferreira, Mina-Vasilia Stoyanova, Georgi Banchev, Matthew Whittle and Francesco Congiusti.
With the participation of the Sofia Opera orchestra, choir and corps de ballet (choir conductor: Violeta Dimitrova) as well as the BNR children’s choir with conductor Mihaela Koteva. Performance conductor: Igor Bogdanov.
