A triumphant opening of the new 2024/2025 season at the Sofia Opera and Ballet! Unending applause for conductor Daniel Oren, lead singers Anna Pirozzi, Jorge de Leon, Rosa Feola, Svetozar Rangelov, Daniel Ostretsov, Angel Antonov, Atanas Mladenov, Emil Pavlov, Veselin Mihaylov, for the children’s choir under the tutelage of Dimitar Kostantsaliev, for the Sofia Opera orchestra and choir and for director Plamen Kartaloff. The audience witnessed an amazing performance of the opera “Turandot” by Giacomo Puccini.
“Act III. Kalaf (Jorge de Leon) has guessed all three of princess Turandot’s riddles correctly. Now he must eagerly await the sunrise hoping she will not find out his true name by then. If she does, then he will be murdered. If she doesn’t, then Turandot will be his forever.”
