The first premiere of the new year is one of the most award-winning musicals, telling the fascinating story of the singers of the Trapp family. Reimagined by the creative inspiration of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, the family story is produced by a global team.
After the success of the musical “Shrek”, director West Hyler again works with the singers. Intensive rehearsals are already underway in the opera halls. Conductors are Igor Bogdanov and Svetoslav Lazarov. Set design is by Jeremy Barnett and costumes by Whitney Locker. For this production again, the artistic lighting is by Zach Blane.

The last work of the creative tandem Rodgers & Hammerstein was inspired by the true story described by Maria von Trapp in the book “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers”, which was made into a West German film in 1956.
The songs from the musical are universal hits. Among them, undoubtedly the most popular are “Do-Re-Mi”, “Edelweiss”, the title track “The Sound of Music”, “My Favorite Things” and “Climb Ev'ry Mountain”.

Let's be together in the New Year, because we have more unforgettable meetings ahead of us and, as Maria sings, our hearts will be blessed with the sound of music.
