After the triumphant success of the Sofia Opera Wagner Festival with the new production of Richard Wagner's “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, the Sofia Opera will be guest at the Festival Theatre in Füssen, Germany, where in the waters of the lake reflects the Neuschwanstein Castle. The tour will take place right in the heart of the Allgäus Alps and lakes that inspired the great Richard Wagner's work and absorbed centuries of musical and theatrical tradition.
The premiere production of the Sofia Opera “Die Walküre” will be presented in Füssen. From 28 September to 3 October, the Second Königswinkel Music Festival dedicated to Richard Wagner and King Ludwig II will take place, presenting a varied and high-quality programme.
At the Festival Theatre in Füssen on 1 and 3 October the audience will be able to see the new production of the Sofia Opera, which premiered in Sofia on 9 July 2023, directed by Plamen Kartaloff – one of the greatest experts on Wagner's work. Conductor – Lothar Zagrosek. In the lead roles: Siegmund – Martin Iliev, Sieglinde – Tsvetana Bandalovska, Wotan – Aris Argiris, Brünnhilde – Gergana Rusekova, Fricka – Mariana Zvetkova, Hunding – Bjarni Thor Kristinsson. The premiere took place in Sofia under the direction of Plamen Kartaloфф.
The Sofia Opera has its loyal fans in Füssen. In 2015, by special invitation, the first production of Plamen Kartaloff's “Der Ring des Nibelungen” was presented in the wonderful hall.
The performances are expected to be attended by appreciators and connoisseurs of Richard Wagner's work.
