Silvia Teneva, Artur Espiritu, Jun Won Huang, Mihail Motaylenko, Alexandrina Mihaylova and Nikolay Voinov thrilled the audience in the first performance of the opera “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini last week. The viewers also saw Vladimir Marinov, Dimitar Stanchev, Mario Petrov, Marina Andreeva and others in the rest of the roles. The artists’ performance was wildly applauded by the viewers who had come to see Boiko Bogdanov’s classic production brought back to life by Vera Petrova. The Sofia Opera orchestra and choir (choir conductor: Violeta Dimitrova) were under the conductorship of Boyan Videnov who is already known to opera fans from his appearances in “La Traviata” and in the two performances of “La Boheme” with the participation of Sonya Yoncheva and Liparit Avetisyan, a year ago.
Viewers will be able to see Liparit as Benjamin Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly” by Puccini on the 14th and the 16th of March as well as the world-famous opera star Christine Opolais in the role of Cho-Cho-San.
