“Falstaff returns on the Sofia Opera stage after a long absence. The premiere will take place on the 27th of February and the following performances: on the 28th of February and on the 1st and 2nd of March.

Verdi’s final masterpiece will be set by an Italian team. Director: Marco Gandini; scenography by Italo Grassi and costumes by Anna Biagiotti.

Conductor: Grigor Palikarov. Some of the best Bulgarian singers have been invited to take part in the performances as well as famous foreign lead singers. The role of sir John Falstaff will be performed by Kiril Manolov, Atanas Mladenov and Lucio Galo. Atanas Mladenov and Ventseslav Anastasov as Ford, Gabriela Georgieva and Milla Mihova as Alice Ford, Maria Pavlova, Stanislava Momekova and Silvia Teneva as Naneta; Emil Pavlov and Rinu Mataphu as Fenton; Vesela Yaneva and Mariana Pencheva as missis Quickly; Alexandrina Stoyanova-Andreeva, Maria Radoeva and Tsveta Sarambelieva as Meg Page; Angel Antonov and Krasimir Dinev as doctor Caius; Nikolay Pavlov, Plamen Dimov-Grandzhan as Bardolf; Alexandar Nosikov, Anton Andreev and Nikolay Voinov as Pistol.

With the participation of the Sofia Opera orchestra and choir; choir conductor: Violeta Dimitrova.
