President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova will attend the presentation of the opera "Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi performed by the National Opera and Ballet of North Macedonia in Sofia on Friday. This was confirmed to the media in North Macedonia by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Mucunski, who together with the Minister of Culture, Zoran Ljutkov, will be part of the delegation led by Siljanovska.

Mucunski said that the format of the meetings the delegation from North Macedonia will have in Sofia is still being negotiated and the media will be officially informed once they are finalized.

Radio Free Europe reported that some media in Bulgaria and North Macedonia announced that while Siljanovska is in Sofia, a meeting will be held between her and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, but there is no official confirmation of this information from Siljanovska's office.

"This is a visit aimed at strengthening relations, using cultural diplomacy as a tool for better understanding between the two countries at a time when there is unnecessary tension in bilateral relations. We need to find a way to normalize, because this is in the interest of trade and the economy, as well as political cooperation," Mucunski was quoted as saying by Free Europe.

Siljanovska attended in Skopje the presentation of the Sofia Opera and Ballet's "Die Walküre" during the May Music Evenings and expressed to the participants in the performance her admiration for the four-hour spectacle, while the director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Plamen Kartaloff invited her to attend in September the presentation on the Sofia stage of the National Opera and Ballet of the Republic of North Macedonia.
