On the 9th of October, at 7pm, feel welcome to visit the solemn marking of the 100th anniversary of Konstantin Iliev’s birth: a great Bulgarian composer, conductor and public figure.
During this anniversary year, the Sofia Opera proudly commemorates one of the most iconic people in Bulgarian musical history.
The program includes:
- A film-portrait “Fragments in memory of Konstantin Iliev”
- Quartet №1
- First scene of the opera “The Boyana Master”, performed on this same stage for the first time on the 3rd of October, 1962.
An excerpt from Konstantin Iliev’s autobiography “Words and deeds”:
“We leave behind us only the steps where we have gone through in our time. Some of them will be erased by the ravages of time. Others will continue to shine and the new generations will follow them. Who knows what kind of steps we’re going to leave behind us?”
